About Me

I filled out the "About Me" section on the main page, but when I finished, it would not accept what I had written because it was about 1,000 characters over the allowed limit. So, I copied what I typed and am going to paste it here. :-)

I am a full-time college student at St. John's River Community College in St. Augustine, Florida and I am an English Education major. I am a 4.0 student and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Maintaining a 4.0 requires a great deal of study time, therefore, I am left with precious little time for extra-curricular activities.

I know that I want to teach more than anything. I was in the dental field for 10 years and I was a dental assisting instructor at Concorde Career Institute in Jacksonville for 2 years. I absolutely fell in love with teaching and there is nothing else that I have every found as rewarding as teaching someone and helping to change their life for the better. A warm "thank you" from a student means more than I can possible begin to put into words. I cannot wait until I can be back in a classroom again on a full-time basis.

When I do find a little personal time, I enjoy movies, shopping, and reading. Also, my husband and I have annual passes to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure in Orlando, so we try to go there as often as time, money, and school will allow.

I am married to a wonderful man, his name is John. He and I just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary on January 11th. John is also a full-time student at St. John's and he is majoring in physical education. We have two teenage daughters, Jordan Danielle, who is 15 years old, and Julia Delana, who is 14 years old. At present they reside in Mississippi with their natural father and have done so for the past year.

My husband and I plan to graduate from St. John's in the spring of 2008 and we hope to then transfer to Florida State University in Tallahassee. We both absolutely love the Seminoles and going to FSU is a goal that both of us have had for many, many years!

We have 2 precious pets. Maria is our 8 year old ferocious attack Chihuahua who thinks she is a pit bull. We love her dearly and she has to be one of the most spoiled dogs in the world. We also have a gray and white cat named Trey who is almost a year old. We rescued him from outside when he was only a few weeks old and had a broken leg. We named him Trey because he only has 3 legs that work well. He's also pretty darn spoiled!

That about sums up everything about me in a nutshell. If there is anything else anyone wants to know about me, then just leave a comment and I will answer in my next blog.
